Updated Character Sheet, and What's Next

First Things First

Thank you so much for checking out this game. 

I knew almost as soon as I heard about the #ChargeCreationJam that I wanted to do something for it, and I quickly settled on a game concept: a fractured fantasy world, struggling with quickly changing economic and cultural and magic/technological realities in a way that mirrors our own in a sort of hyper-real way. 

I'd been in a discussion a few months before about how there wasn't a game that was really made to handle the Craft Sequence series by Max Gladstone, books that manage to weave compelling legal or political or crime thrillers in a rich fantasy world full of very human characters. While others may have focused on the specifics of the magical abilities or magical "technologies" of the setting, I wanted a game that would let any given group end up with a play experience that felt something like one of those stories.

Second Things Second

There's a new, prettier, character sheet available for download. I was so impressed with myself for getting everything to look clean and simple, with just a touch of style, that I didn't include a line for the character's name. Instead of updating the basic sheet for the third time, I've made another sheet with a line just for that, but please feel free just to throw it on the Concept line or in the space at the very top of the sheet!

This was actually my second version of a new sheet, but the first felt a bit too generic or bland and I wanted to follow the general shape of the other sheets for Charge.

In any case, going forward I'm going to work on cleaning up some of the formatting & language in the main book and adding some more guidance on:

• Linking characters to eachother or coming up with a cohesive group of characters, and
• More detail on and examples of the Plot Map system.
